I was honored to participate in this great worldwide literary project, where poets from around the world were asked to write simultaneously for ten minutes on a given date. In this publication, 20 poets from Israel were asked to write on September 9, 2009, between 5:50 – 6:00 pm.

Southern winds are blowing up mist from the Sea of Galilee to the hilltops where I stand. Autumn is a season non-existent around these parts, just a day or two between desert and rainfall. Here, extremity is the norm, deep-rooted in the Basalt, charred in the eyes of rapid change.
The surrounding hills bear meaning beyond their historical chains of prejudice and miracle. Seven years to the month, that I’ve exchanged the greyness of concrete to the greeness of sprout. Left the Metropolis behind to make way for simplicity. And now, I am nesting. Outside my window little feet occupy my view.
babies,
toddlers,
kids,
teenagers,
the complete arc of childhood has replaced
the strays,
the junkies,
the whores
and beggars.
All guises have been shed revealing the nudest of truths:
A southern wind up from the sea, that climbs the hilltops, through baby toes and in to my nest.
Here,
I stand accepting the extremities without – for the oridinaries within.
Love,
